April update from your club committee

As most of you will know, your dive club committee meets once a month to discuss all matters relating to the dive club (and many things which aren’t).  Just so the rest of you don’t all feel left out, here’s a summary of what’s going on at the moment and what’s coming up soon.

Trips
It’s only April and already we have run two successful trips (Portland and Plymouth) with some good diving and also lots of training for our new novices.
There is plenty more planned for the year - details of which are on the calendar and on info sheets (in colour and with pictures!) for those of you not familiar with the locations, both of which you can find in the club room.

Training
Matt has temporarily stepped down as training officer, but Morgan will take on this role for the moment.

We’ll be running a nitrox workshop over two Tuesday evenings, 15 and 22 May, for everyone who has started a new qualification level since the beginning of the year to bring them up to speed and give them a BSAC nitrox qualification.

Also a dive leader theory day will be held on 13 May to cover all the theory lessons for those who have started dive leader training.

Membership
We currently have 53 members and have had quite a few enquiries recently about joining.

Club room
As the club room is much dryer now, we will repaint it one weekend with a group of willing volunteers…
